Banda Aceh (Ar-Raniry) – The Doctoral Program in Islamic Studies at the Ar-Raniry State Islamic University (UIN) Banda Aceh held a research orientation meeting for its first student intake on Tuesday (July 9, 2025).

The event, which took place in the multifunction room on the first floor of the Postgraduate Building, was attended by all students who had completed their first semester.

The meeting aimed to solidify the direction and focus of student research to align with the program's vision and support timely completion.

The Head of the Doctoral Program in Islamic Studies, Prof. Dr. Syamsul Rijal, MAg, led the meeting. He emphasized that student research must be designed from the outset in a planned, integrative, and responsive manner to current challenges.

"We encourage students to produce dissertations that are not only academically superior, but also pioneering in the development of integrative, multidisciplinary, and interconnected Islamic studies," said Syamsul Rijal.

Syamsul emphasized the program's commitment to providing ongoing academic mentoring. This support includes intensive mentoring, scientific writing workshops, and access to international journals and forums.

"This research orientation screening is the initial step towards producing original, high-quality scientific work that provides tangible benefits to the development of Islamic scholarship, potentially contributing to the construction of Islamic civilization from Aceh to the global stage," said Syamsul.

The study program hopes that through this process, students will produce dissertations that not only meet global academic standards but also strengthen Islam's contribution to addressing contemporary social and civilizational challenges.
