Jakarta, August 11, 2025 — The 15th Biennial Scientific Meeting of Arabic Language Educators, known as the International Scientific Meeting (PINBA) and the Association of Arabic Language Educators (IMLA) Indonesia, was successfully held at Pondok Pesantren Darunnajah, Jakarta, from August 6–8, 2025. The event brought together hundreds of participants from both within Indonesia and abroad, representing public and private universities, Islamic boarding schools, and Arabic language education institutions across the country.

With the theme “Arabic Language in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Policy, Planning, and Instruction,” the gathering served as a strategic platform for academics, researchers, and practitioners in Arabic language education to exchange ideas, present research findings, and share innovative teaching approaches relevant to contemporary challenges.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Uril Baharuddin, MA, Chair of IMLA Indonesia, emphasized that PINBA–IMLA is not only an academic forum but also an occasion to strengthen professional and personal networks among Arabic language educators. “We hope that this forum will generate new breakthroughs capable of enhancing the quality of Arabic language education in Indonesia,” he stated.

The series of events included national seminars, research presentations, workshops on technology-based learning media, and innovations in Arabic language education. The forum also became a momentum for several universities to establish academic partnerships. These included an international Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh and Bajdah Educational, Saudi Arabia, as well as a national Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Master’s Program in Arabic Language Education (PBA) of UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh and that of UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, which was signed at both the beginning and conclusion of the event.

The collaboration encompasses curriculum development, faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, scholarly publications, and the organization of joint seminars and conferences.
Dr. Syahrul Riza, MA, Head of the Master’s Program in Arabic Language Education at UIN Ar-Raniry, stated that the partnership represents a strategic step toward strengthening academic networks in the field of Arabic language education. “We aim to foster collaboration that generates tangible innovations, not only at the national level but also globally,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Dr. Aprijon Efendi, Lc. MA, Head of the Master’s Program in Arabic Language Education at UIN Suska Riau, added that the cooperation would be implemented through joint academic and research activities that directly benefit the academic community.
With the signing of this agreement, both parties reaffirm their commitment to advancing the quality of Arabic language education in Indonesia while expanding their contributions on the international stage.
